Dr Jaclyn White
BAppSc MBBS FRANZCO
Born in country Queensland, Dr Jaclyn White was raised and educated in Brisbane. She commenced her tertiary studies at QUT, graduating with distinction with a degree in Applied Science (Medical Science). Jaclyn went on to complete her medical training at The University of Queensland and was awarded an MBBS in 2007.
Jaclyn was moved to pursue a career in ophthalmology after visiting an eye hospital in Nepal as a medical student.
Throughout her specialist ophthalmology training in major hospitals across Queensland, she has always been inspired by the profound impact that restoration and preservation of sight has on the quality of life of her patients.
Following the completion of her formal ophthalmology training, Jaclyn has gained additional fellowship experience in all aspects of General Adult Ophthalmology at the Mater Hospital and has further subspecialised in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
Jaclyn also has a strong interest in genetic eye disease and has undertaken further tertiary studies in Diagnostic Genomics. Her clinical research in ocular genetics has been presented at both national and international meetings.
Outside of work, Jaclyn delights in spending time with her young family, where she and her husband, Michael, enjoy sharing outdoor adventures with their three children.
